Poori is very popular deep fried Indian bread. It can be deep fried in oil or ghee, depending on your choice. It is prepared on special occasions and tastes best with variety of items like Kheer, Gatte ki sabji, Kadhi, Chole etc.
2 cup whole wheat flour
1 tbsp Ghee
Salt to taste
Oil/Ghee for Deep Frying
In a bowl, add flour, salt, ghee and mix them well. Make tight dough by adding little water.
Divide the dough into 12-14 pieces, make small balls and roll them into small circles.
Heat oil in a deep frying pan but it should not be too hot. Now add one poori at a time and fry gently by pressing down with the frying spoon. Turn it over when puffed up and keep frying until it becomes golden brown. Serve hot.
