Murmura (Puffed Rice) Poha


4 cups Murmura (Puffed Rice)
1 Tomato large (finely chopped)
1 tsp Red chili powder
¼ tsp Turmeric powder
1 tsp Coriander powder
1 green chili (finely chopped)
½ tsp Mustard seeds
½ tsp Cumin seeds
5-7 Curry leaves
1 tbsp Roasted Chana dal
2 tbsp Roasted Peanuts
1 tbsp oil
Salt to taste
1 tsp Lemon Juice (optional)
Coriander leaves for garnish


Put Murmura (puffed rice) in a sieve and rinse it with water. Remove/squeeze out all the excess water and let it be in the sieve.

On low flame, heat oil in a pan. Fry peanuts and roasted chana dal. Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds and once it starts crackling, add finely chopped green chili and curry leaves. Saute for 5 seconds and then add finely chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder and salt to taste. Mix well and saute on medium flame for 1.5-2 minutes. Lastly add the Murmura and mix in a way that Murmura is well coated with spices. Murmura Poha is ready, add lemon juice, garnish it with chopped coriander and serve it hot.
