1 cup dal (leftover)
½ cup whole wheat flour
1 tsp red chili powder
¼ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp carom seeds
2 tsp kasoori methi
Salt to taste
1 tsp chopped green chili
1 tbsp chopped coriander
Oil for cooking parathas + 1tbsp


Heat the leftover dal in a pan to reduce/evaporate the excess water. In a bowl, add dal and all other ingredients with one tablespoon oil. Mix it properly and make a dough. Make medium sized balls of the dough and roll them into parathas. Heat tawa at medium-low flame and cook both sides of parathas with some oil until the parathas becomes golden brown. Serve the parathas hot. It also tastes good with raita, pickle, tomato ketchup or coriander chutni.
