Matar Paneer



100 gm Paneer (Cottage Cheese)
1 cup Frozen Peas
¾ cup Yoghurt
1 medium sized Onion
1 ½ tbsp Ghee/Oil
1 Green chili
1 tsp Ginger paste
1 tsp Garlic paste
1 tsp Cumin seeds
1 tsp Red chili powder,
¼ tsp Turmeric powder
2 tsp Coriander powder
Salt to taste
¼ tsp Garam masala powder
1 tbsp Fresh Cream (optional)


Finely chop onion and green chili. Cut paneer into small pieces (cubes) and keep aside.

Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds. Add chopped onion and saute. Add ginger-garlic paste and saute. Add chopped green chili, paneer pieces and peas. Saute for 2-3 minutes on a low flame.

In a small bowl, add yoghurt, red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt and mix them well. Now add this yoghurt mixture in the pan and mix it well. Cook it on low flame for 3- 4 minutes and stir continuously. Add fresh cream (if required) and water (if required) to adjust the consistency. At last, add garam masala, boil it once and garnish with chopped coriander.
