Methi Matar Malai

Sorry for taking the long break but I am back with the more yummy and traditional recipes. To start with, here comes the recipe of Methi Malai Matar.

Methi Matar Malai


1 cup fresh/frozen Peas
1 cup fresh Fenugreek leaves (Methi)
1/2 cup Yoghurt
1 Onion (medium sized)
2-3 cloves of Garlic
1 inch piece of Ginger
2 tbsp Ghee
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp Red chili powder
1 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
Salt to taste
4 tbsp Fresh Cream


Wash and rinse fenugreek leaves. Heat ghee in a pan/kadhai and add cumin seeds. When it starts crackling, add ginger garlic paste. Saute it and add finely chopped onions. Saute it and then add fenugreek leaves and mix well. Now add 1/4 cup of water and simmer it for 4-5 minutes. Now add boiled peas (if fresh peas, for frozen peas, boiling not required) and mix well. In a small bowl add yoghurt, red chili powder, coriander powder, salt and whisk well. Add this mixture into the pan/kadai and cook it for 2-3 minutes. Add little water, fresh cream and boil for 1-2 minutes. Dish is ready to eat, serve it hot.
