Bharwa Mirchi

Nice addition to your meal……

Bharwa Mirchi

4 Big Green Chilis
1 cup gram Flour
3/4 tsp Cumin seeds
1 1/4 tsp Red Chili powder
1 tsp Coriander powder
1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp fennel seeds
2 tbsp oil
1 tbsp lemon juice

Wash chilis and make a slit on one side without cutting through. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan, add 1/2 tsp cumin seeds and gram flour. Mix well and roast gram flour on low flame/heat for approx 7-10 minutes. Once there is nice aroma of roasted gram flour, add red chili powder, coriander powder, 1/8 tsp turmeric powder, salt and fennel seeds. Mix it well, roast for 30 seconds and keep it aside to cool. Now transfer this mixture to a bowl, add lemon juice and fill this mixture in chilis. Heat remaining oil in a pan and add 1/4 tsp cumin seeds. Add chilies in the pan and stir slowly. Add 1/8 tsp turmeric powder, salt, 1 tbsp water and stir slowly. Now cover the pan with plate, put little water in it and let it cook for 5 minutes while stir in between. Finally insert a knife in chilis and check if chilis are cooked or not. If it’s cooked then put off the gas. Serve once cool down.

1) In above recipe, green chilis can also be replaced with capsicum.
2) This can be consumed (refrigerated) during a week time.
