Aloo Kofta

Aloo Kofta

 

Ingredients:

For Filling –
4 medium sized Potato
1 Onion (chopped)
½ cup Peas
1 medium sized green chilly (chopped)
½ tsp ginger paste
½ tsp Mustard seeds
½ tsp Cumin seeds
7-8 Cashews
8-10 Raisins
1 ¼ tsp Red Chili powder
1 tsp Coriander powder
1/8 tsp Turmeric powder
Salt to taste
¼ tsp Amchur (dry mango) powder
¼ tsp Garam masala
1 tbsp Chopped Coriander
1 tbsp oil + Oil for deep frying

For Batter –
2/3 cup Gram flour
½ tsp Red Chili powder
Pinch of Turmeric powder
Salt to taste

Method:

Boil potatoes and mash them. Add red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt in mashed potatoes. On other side, heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds. When mustard seeds start crackling, add cashew halves, raisins, ginger paste, chopped onion, green chili and saute. Then add mashed potatoes, amchur powder, garam masala, chopped coriander and mix well. Keep this mixture aside to cool. Divide it into 12 portions and make balls.
In another bowl, add all the ingredients for batter with enough water to make smooth thick paste. Heat oil in another pan, dip the masala balls in the batter and deep fry on medium heat/flame. Serve it hot…..
