Kadhi

My mother use to say that having “Kadhi” in winter helps to get rid of cold and even prevents cold. It can be taken as soup or as side dish with roti, biryani, pulao, lauki ke gatte, rice etc. So, today I am posting the recipe of Kadhi to have chill free winter 🙂

Kadhi

Ingredients:

1/2 cup Yoghurt
2 tbsp Gram Flour
1/4 tsp Cumin seeds
1/4 tsp Mustard seeds
1 tbsp Ghee
7-8 Curry leaves
1 medium sized Green Chili
1 tsp Red chili powder
2 tsp Coriander powder
1/8 tsp Turmeric Powder
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves for garnish

Method:

In a thick bottom pan, whisk yoghurt and add three cup water in it. Heat this mixture on medium to high flame for 2-3 minutes and add gram flour in it. Whisk the gram flour in such a way that it leaves no lumps. Now add curry leaves, chopped green chili, turmeric powder, coriander powder and let it boil on medium to high flame for at least 20-25 minutes. Stir in between to prevent spilling while boiling, then add salt and boil for another 2-3 minutes. At the same time, in another small pan heat ghee and add cumin seeds and mustard seeds. When mustard seeds start crackling, add red chili powder and immediately put this ghee mixture into the liquid mixture. Your dish is ready, garnish it with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
